ACT2 SCENE 1
[This scene opens up in a well furnished,nicely built
mansion. The living room was spacious enough to accomodate an army.The ground was tiled and paint spell wealth.This is the house of chief williams where he holds a party.Guests from different parts of the world filled the room with their perfumes with a fragrance enough to quench the smell of a dump site.Desmond was shy not because he is gentle but because mingling with the rich gave him lack of confidence.Dresssed in his tuxedo suit he looks handsome and so fits in with the rich.Jessica on the other hand was ever dashing with her eyes that glows like the stars at night and her smile made the sun stare at her beauty.Such a woman was a take away.Let us go back to the story.]
JESSICA:Am so happy you came you look so handsome.
DESMOND:Thank you..and you...you...you look so pretty.
JESSICA: (smiles).Thank you.Let me introduce you to my dad and mum. (she holds his hand and takes him to her father).Dad,to the guests i will like to talk to my father.
CHIEF WILLIAMS:Ok angel........Hmm..chief,alhaji please give me some minutes with my daughter.(the guests leaves them).So princess who is this young man.
JESSICA:Thats where i was coming to dad.This is desmond the gentleman i told you about, the one that saved me from those rogues.
CHIEF WILLIAMS:Nice to have you young man.Thank you for saving my daughter.
DESMOND:No problem..
MRS WILLIAMS:So are you both in the same school.
DESMOND:Yes ma..am a student of mechanical engineering.
CHIEF WILLIAMS:Good i am also an engineering and still but i ventured into other businesses.

MRS WILLIAMS:You guys can go now enough of the question enjoy the party(she also leaves them as jessica takes desmond to her friends stella and Nina)
JESSICA:Hey...guys( they look at her).You girls are looking pretty.
NINA:And you are looking smashing.
STELLA:Wow..who is the handsome cute fellow.
JESSICA:Sorry...guys this is desmond and desmond this is nina and..this is stella.(she points at them).
DESMOND:Nice to meet you girls..
BOTH:Same here.....
JESSICA:So desmond here is a 400 level student of mechanical engineering.
STELLA:Wow...you got brains too...well jessica hold him tight.

[After the party,jessica drives him to his house as they enter the one-room apartment where is mother is lying on the bed and rita sitting on a sofa].
DESMOND:(They enter inside).Mama...how are you doing?
MAMA:My son i am fine.(she gets up)who.. is this young lady?
DESMOND:Mama...this is the lady i told you about that paid for the operation,the bill and our house rent.
JESSICA:Good evening ma...how you doing?
MAMA DESMOND:Ha..fine my daughter.God will bless you.You will never lack(she wants to kneel down as jessica stops her).
JESSICA:Ha..mama it has not gotten to this...desmond here is also a helper to me.
MAMA DESMOND:If you say so my child.Sit down my child let rita serve you food.
JESSICA:Oh...mama dont worry am fine maybe later.I have a good news and a surprise for you.
DESMOND:(Confused).I dont understand jessica
JESSICA:Well...i cant bear to see you live here and so here is the key to a house in ikeja.
DESMOND: What...jessica how did you manag...(she cuts in)

JESSICA: Come on, ok....the house is a gift from my aunt....since she lives in the states and i live in my dad's house and even in my hostel.I don't live there,so i decided to give it out to you guys.Come on take the keys.(He takes the key).I will take you guys there tommorow.I will be going now mama.
MAMA:Ok....my child God will abundantly bless you.
JESSICA:And you too ma..
RITA:Aunty goodnight..
JESSICA:Goodnight dear....
DESMOND:Hmmm...i will see her off..mama..
MAMA:Ok(they both go outside as desmond holds her hands).
DESMOND: Jessica...thank you, really my family and i would be lost without you.
JESSICA:Thank God am here...
DESMOND:I had a nice time today but in all,i kept staring at you.
JESSICA:Hmm...you dont have bring this up.
DESMOND:I know...i have forgotten you are a rich girl and am just a pauper.(he turns his back at her)
JESSICA:Not that...desmond...i..also feel the same way..but..(desmond turns to her draws her chin and draws her lip over to his as they kiss)
(After kissing,they place their head to each other as desmond breaks the silence).
DESMOND:I never felt this way jessica...
JESSICA:(she withdraws her head)I think i will just go now....I will call you tommorow(she puts down her head like a shy princess).
DESMOND:Goodnight..
(She enters the car as desmond waves to her as she zooms away).

[In a restaurant,jessica and desmond sits facing each other served with a bottle of wine as desmond stares at her].
JESSICA:What is it....you have been staring at me for some time now.
DESMOND:Its your eyes,they are so beautiful....Jessica(he holds her hand).I care about you not because of how much you have helped my family but because i fall in love with you from the first day i saw you.
JESSICA: Desmond...this is too sudden...
DESMOND:I know...i know.. but my heart keeps beating hard to tell you before a rich kid comes to take you away.
JESSICA:And who told i am in a relationship...
DESMOND:I know you........are.... i saw your reaction with him and the way he looked at me with jealousy.You dont love him i know because you can never force love.
JESSICA:Desmond...i ...dont really want us to rush into things. Give me some time to think about it.
DESMOND:Its fine by me...
JESSICA:Waiter...(she calls the waiter).
WAITER:Yes...ma

DESMOND:Jessica let me settle the bill(he search his first pocket and nothing and searched the third one same then finally his shirt pocket,he brings out #3000 and gives the waiter)).Take this and keep the change.
WAITER:Thank you sir..(the waiter leaves).
JESSICA:Desmond... thats the last cash on you..
DESMOND:Its worth for..... every minute i spend with you is a blessing.
JESSICA:Hmm...(she change the topic)I will be going to school now what about you?
DESMOND:I have to see a friend..
JESSICA:Should i take you there..
DESMOND:You... don't worry i will take a cab.
JESSICA: Ok[ they leave the restaurant.Jessica enters her car suddenly,two men in a bike slows down and shoots desmond they zoom off as desmond falls.Seeing this,jessica runs out of the car to where desmond is screaming and crying as he is soaked in his blood].

[2 months later, the police arrested don.d and his boys. Desmond recovered from the incident.The love between desmond and jessica deepens as an antagonist comes into the picture.This scene opens up in a pool side in Jessica's hostel owned by her father where jessica celebrates her 22nd birthday. Her friends including desmond comes to celebrate with her].
STELLA:Jessica dear what are doing here alone..? why the sad face?
JESSICA:Am waiting for desmond....I don't know why he is not here..
STELLA:Wow... that cute guy... i thought you said he is just a friend..
JESSICA:We are now more than that now...he is really caring,kindhearted..
STELLA:And also cute.. he is hot...
JESSICA :Ha...stella..
STELLA:That is it oh..that is it....so why don't you call his line.

STELLA:The party is justing starting chill dearie....(as they discuss,desmond comes in)..

PAUL:Shut you fool..(he gives desmond a punch as he falls into the swimming pool.Jessica screams as desmond was a good swimmer and comes out but then paul has left the party as everyone stares).
JESSICA:Am sorry dear...am so sorry for this embarrassment..
DESMOND:Dont worry it is no problem.This is your day and am not going to make you worry..
JESSICA:Thanks honey...i have something to give you and i think this is the right time.Come with me..
(They go into the room as he removes his t.shirt she holds him)
JESSICA:(She removes her dress revealing her underwears).This i give to you desmond..which no one has done to me before..(desmond stammers....as she comes close to him).
[At that same hour, paul enters his car as he calls some strange guys]
PAUL:You guys are idiots...idiots..
SPARROW:Ha...wetin happen boss mi..why you dey para..
PAUL:I thought you said you finished the job...
SPARROW:Which job oga...
PAUL:Oh my God...the job concerning the man after my woman...
SPARROW:Dat one.. the guy don die...na
PAUL:I saw him today looking so strong.I paid you guys lot of money for this.Jessica is mine and anyone coming so close to her will pay with his life.Now i want you to complete the job.Do not fail this time..
SPARROW:I will get the boys ready boss...no problem..put your mind at rest..
PAUL:Stupid..(he ends the call and drives away).
[Meanwhile, jessica and desmond are kissing and romancing each other].
DESMOND:Hmm...jess..jessica am sorry.This...this is not right..
JESSICA:What do you mean..desmond..i love you and you love me too..or do you not find me attractive(she turns her face to back him).

CHIEF WILLIAMS:Jessica, paul told me what happened on your birthday. What is wrong with you?
JESSICA:I am in love dad...in love.I have finally fallen in love with the man that makes my heart beat..
MRS WILLIAMS:And who is this man...if i may ask...
JESSICA:Mum it is desmond the man that saved me from those rogues...

JESSICA:Mum..(she stands up) .He is not an orphan...he has a mother..
MRS WILLIAMS:Come on child...his family have no proper background...they are not up to our status...

CHIEF WILLIAMS:(turns to her..)Shut up...now listen you will get married to paul or else..

CHIEF WILLIAMS:Jessica...jessica come back here...(she leaves as chief williams follows her calling her name and mrs williams follows behind...).
[Meanwhile Paul's hitmen has watched desmond's movement and traced him to a house , looking for the right time to finish him up]
SPARROW: (in a car....)Boss...we have traced him...
PAUL:Good..are you sure he in there...
SPARROW:We watched him all day...
PAUL:Nice one...now this is the right time to kill him and anyone in there...
SPARROW:Ok boss...we will leave no stone unturned...(he ends the call).Guys the boss has instructed us to go in there to kill him...
COSMOS:Let..us do it and get out of here...
SPARROW:We have to chill it is just 9pm.. lets wait still its so late to avoid any problem....

COSMOS:We search everywhere we no see am. Its seems he ran out from the backdoor).
SPARROW:What!...this is fuck up...fuck up..
[While in the kitchen locker ,he picks his phone to call the police...]
DESMOND:(Speaking very low).Hello...
POLICE VOICE:Yes...
DESMOND:There is an emergency at no 4 babatunde street,ikeja..
POLICE VOICE:We will send a message to the nearest police station there..
DESMOND:Please it is a matter of life and death...
[In the parlour...]
SPEEDO:Boss...we are wasting time let get out of here....
SPARROW:(looks at musa).Sorry mate...(he fires two shots to musa as he dies).Let get out of here...
[Sparrow and his guys runs out but then hears the siren of the police vehicle. Seeing the police,they run to the bush in a different path as the police pursues them. Still very late,speedo runs with his gun but was sighted by vigilantes who were also alerted].
VIGILANTE:Hey..stop there.. stop there..(he kept running and suddenly got shot on the leg as he falls down. Seeing this,the vigilantes captures him as the police gets to the scene and carries speedo into their vehicle).
