ACT 2 SCENE 1
[In the department of law....Daniel stands lined up with students in a long queue waiting
to sign their course form.....]
STUDENT1:When are they going to answer us.....i am really tired of standing....
STUDENT2:This is what we have gotten ourselves into we must face it....
STUDENT1:I left my hostel so early as 7am just to sign this....i got here only to see this long queue....
STUDENT2:It is really funny....maybe some students slept in school just to sign their form.....
STUDENT2:Nothing we can do but wait...(April pass the students with her boys and in the office she enters......)
STUDENT1:Who is that girl.....i hope she is not a fresher like us.....(April comes out with her signed course form in her hands.....)
STUDENT2:This is not fair oh....how can she come now and sign her form....what about we that are here before her.....
(She goes out with her guys....as the students stare at her.....same with Daniel.....)
[Hours later.....Daniel goes to the cafeteria with Richie to eat.........]
DANIEL: I am so hungry and tired.....
RICHIE: Let me call the waiter.....waiter....(the waiter comes....)
WAITER: Yes....what do you want....
RICHIE: Let me see your menu....
WAITER: Give me a minute sir.....
RICHIE: Alright...(the waiter moves on....)
DANIEL: Man.....you won't guess what happened.....
RICHIE: What happened.....?
DANIEL: I saw a girl today.... that is when i know money makes the world go round....
RICHIE: What do you mean...?
DANIEL: When i went to the department to sign my course form i met a long queue....i joined the line and waited......a girl came in with her boys....she went into the HOD's office to sign her form....came out and left without no stress....man....it was so bad....students were complaining....man what is wrong with you....(he looks at the direction where Richie is looking)
RICHIE: Do you see that cutie pie over there...?
DANIEL: Yes....i do.....
RICHIE: Give me one minute....(he moves from his table to the lady's table.....)....sorry damsel....i hope you don't mind if i join you....
GIRL: I don't mind....(he sits down....)
RICHIE: I cant stop staring at you.....excuse my manners i am Richie.....a 400level student of medicine and surgery.....
GIRL: Woah....well i am Betty a 300level.......student of pharmacy....
RICHIE: A beautiful girl with brains....that is beautiful.....i have lectures by 1pm....can i have your number......
BETTY: Alright....(she called the number as he dials it.... )
RICHIE: Thank you for your time... beautiful treasure.....(he goes back to his table...)....Daniel lets go....
DANIEL: Why...?
RICHIE: Lets just go....(Daniel leaves the cafeteria with Richie....outside the cafeteria...)
DANIEL: What did you do that for... Richie.....?
RICHIE: I was meant to leave that place.....
DANIEL: I have not ordered for anything and still fucking hungry....
RICHIE: We can go to some where else.....i can take you to a better place....
DANIEL: I have told you don't bring me to you fake type of life.....(he walks on...)
RICHIE: Come on Daniel...don't be pissed up with me.....(they move as the scene ends.....)

ACT 2 SCENE 2
[Weeks later Daniel dressed in blue stripped shirt and a black jean on a Thursday morning wakes Richie who went for a party last night.....and is lying on the soft bed....]
DANIEL: Man wake up now.....(he taps Richie)......have you forgotten we have our first lecture by 8am.....
RICHIE:(Wakes up tiredly....and checks the wall clock... ).....guy this is just 6:40am....
DANIEL: Oh.....so you want to go to class by 8am.....something is wrong with you come on go take your bath and dress up old man...
RICHIE: The party yesterday was so good......i nailed a chick...."Joy" her name is.....will see her later today.....
DANIEL: I don't want to hear "tales of Richie the womanizer".....
anyways i am going to class....if there is space i will reserve for you but surely i cant wait for you.....
RICHIE:(In the bathroom.....with toothbrush in his mouth.....)....ok old man.....
[Daniel takes a tricycle to his department.....he checks his time.....some minutes to 7am..he moves so fast so though his life depends on it...only to get a seat in the hall...getting to the hall it was filled up with students....but he struggled to get a seat at the third row......after some minutes his phone rang.... ]
DANIEL: Are you in school Richie...?
RICHIE: I want to check up with that "chickala".....i told you about...we see you later.....
DANIEL: Richie....(the call ends....)....what is wrong with this boy first day for lectures and he is going to see a woman....na wa oh.....(April dressed in a beautiful gown....comes in with her boys .....she moves to the front seat at the middle row while her boys stay at the exit door....)
APRIL:(Seeing people sit down there.....)....do you know this is a reserved seat.....?
GIRL4:What are you saying reserved for who....you...??
APRIL: yes....for me alone.... i don't want to see anyone here.....the seat is meant for me alone......
GIRL1: Ehen.. ..wonders shall never cease......are you drunk or something....
APRIL: I don't exchange words with a lowlife like you guys....just get your belongings out of here........or my boys will....
GIRL: How is that possible....we came here earlier than you and you want us to move out.....something is really wrong with you..... we cannot move out for you that is final.. .(April moves to the end of the door to call her boys....)
GIRL3:(Laughing)....
look at her ......(hisses)........she wants to intimidate us....
BOY1:Listen...let us leave this seat.....
GIRL3:Why is that....?...is it because she is with guards.....
BOY1:listen i don't want any problems with her......do you know her father.....i was told her father is don Williams...one of the biggest crime boss in Africa....he controls all the cult groups here in universities.....for me i am going....(he carries his bag and leave....)
GIRL2:Go.....coward...a guy for that matter being a weakling...i will not allow anyone to ride me...(some leaves as three other girls still remain there.....April returns with her boys.......)
APRIL: Take this piece of trash.....out of here...
PREYE: Hey....get your bags and books out of her.....
GIRL3:Intimidation i condole not oh....(without finishing her statement she receives a big slap.....)
PREYE: Get out from here.....(they all run out as the girl kept on crying....the drama keeps the students entertained.....immediately the lecturer comes in....as April sits alone in a lone seat.....)
LECTURER: Good morning students.....
STUDENTS: Morning sir......
LECTURER: My name is professor Tunde olayemi.......the major lecturer for this course LAW 101......(he sights April sitting alone in the single seat that can hold 8 more people.....)....young lady why are you sitting alone....
APRIL: I don't share grounds with commoners...
LECTURER: This is a university and not your father's parlour...
APRIL: And do you know who my father is......?
LECTURER: Is he the president...?? ....that does not give you the right to sit in a long bench alone....
APRIL: Mind your business Mr lecturer....and do not invite fire to you life....
LECTURER: Are you threatening me....young lady....
APRIL: It is not a threat but a fact.....am not sure you know don Williams bright....he is my father.......
LECTURER: Don Williams is your father.....?
APRIL: Now you know...mind your business....
LECTURER: I cant take this....i cant....i am out of here....(he goes out as people begin to wail.....with that anger Daniel comes out of his seat and goes to where April is......as the scene ends.....)

[Daniel comes out of his seat and goes to where April is....at a point he calms down..]
DANIEL: Good morning....(no response from April as she chats on her phone..... )....well that is your nature.....you have successfully drove the lecturer away.....
APRIL: Sorry are you talking to me....?
DANIEL: Why will you say that....when you have no one on your seat.....oh have you forgotten you drove them away with your childish.... insolent,ungenial behaviour....,
APRIL: What.... do you know who you are talking to....
DANIEL: Oh.....yeah you said it....."don Williams bright's daughter".....(mimicking her....)....but what i know is that you are a spoilt brat with a detestable character......who is going to be bitter and lonely....as you know loneliness kills so fast....(her boys sees him and goes to meet her....)
PREYE: His he disturbing you ma....
DANIEL: I can see you boys are here....just follow my advice...before you die a lonely old cargo....(the guards tries to hit him....but was stopped by April...)
APRIL:(Picks her bag...)
Take me out of here....now....(she leaves as her boys follow her out......immediately Richie comes to meet Daniel)
RICHIE: Men....Daniel...i can see your control...real tight....
DANIEL: Which control..
RICHIE: Ha...the one with that beautiful pearl....come on whats her name.....angel....right...
DANIEL: Not only angel that girl is as bitter as an old blind woman....
RICHIE: Geez....well i guess it is because she turned you down...
DANIEL: What is wrong with you....i am telling you what she is....and you are saying rubbish.....that girl's character is so bad she has no courtesy for anybody....
RICHIE: Men.....i like that challenge....
DANIEL: What challenge....?
RICHIE: Challenge to sleep with that beautiful old blind angel....
DANIEL: Oh my God.....Daniel you take everything as a joke....i pity you....my seat is over there.....(they moves over to his seat)
RICHIE: So how was class today....
DANIEL: Our first lecture was cancelled due to the behaviour of that girl....
RICHIE: Whoa...that girl must really be fire....
DANIEL: Richie i have decided to run for the post of class rep in our class.....
RICHIE: Wow....that is good....you will be a good rep with all your advice....
DANIEL: Funny you...i have joined the advocate party....
RICHIE: And who is your opponent or opponents.....
DANIEL: I have not seen any....(they hear a voice from the platform....)
TOBI: Greatest Nigerian students....greatest hands of justice....my name is Oluwaseun Oluwatobiloba.....but you can call me "Action"....i am in the reformer party....a great party for change and justice.....i am going for the representative of this honourable class of law....vote for me....and i will lead this class to greatness....(students clap....while some focus on their notes...)
RICHIE: I think you have seen an opponent and a hot one at that....
DANIEL: Yeah....from the biggest rival party reformer.....
RICHIE: Have you chosen a nickname.....
DANIEL: Hmm....have not thought of that....
RICHIE: Better do....and do it fast...(the next lecturer walks into the class....)
[Two days later....the guys get ready for their fresher's party....]
RICHIE: Daniel be quick about it.....
DANIEL: Ehen....you know how to get ready when it comes to school you will be late..
RICHIE: Anyhow.....we are getting late....(Daniel sprays on his perfume....picks up his leather jacket... and moves out with Richie....after some minutes they got to the hall.......)
RICHIE: Whoa....man look at this....
DANIEL: Richie we should not waste anytime here....
RICHIE: I thought you said you are running for class rep....?
DANIEL: Yes...how does that relate with this...
RICHIE: You will have to relate with people in a social gathering and also in school.....that is how you win.....i guess your opponent is already up to that....
DANIEL: Well that is true....i will but will not stay for long....
RICHIE: Men....see the sweet girls here..
DANIEL: You ehen...
ANCHOR: Now....it dancing time but this time.....i get to pick two different genders to dance together....(She moves as people stands both boys and girls....oh alright for the guys i pick....hmmm...hmmm....i pick you...the guy in the black jacket....
RICHIE: Wow....he picked you....come on go...(he push him into the dance floor...).
ANCHOR: And for the girls....i pick you...the lady in a purple gown...(the scene ends....)

ACT 2 SCENE 4
[Daniel comes on the dancefloor and so eager to see the girl he is going to dance with but to his surprise his imagination was far behind....]
DANIEL:(He looked at the lady but was carried away by her beauty he did not recognised her....)....hello beautiful angel.... can we dance....?
APRIL:(she looks at him as her face changes....)...What.......you....!
DANIEL:(He moves closer to her and holds her hand....)...do you know me....(surprised)
APRIL: Dont touch me...(she slaps him which makes the people scream and murmur.....she runs out as Daniel follows her..)
DANIEL: Wait please...(he holds her hand and stops her...)...i don't understand....?
APRIL: Have you forgotten...."a spoilt detestable brat"....that is what you called me...
DANIEL:(Surprised)....wow.....i could not recognize you....you look so beautiful and more like an angel......and not like the insolent lady you were....(she raises her hand to hit him....he catches her hand and draws her close to him.....her bosom touches his chest....he presses his lips on hers as she feels the warmth of his breath.....after a slow kissing ....she withdraws....)
APRIL: How dare you...(she withdraws totally...and slaps him and moves on fast as Daniel smiles touching his lips and moves back into the hall.....)
RICHIE: How far Danielo....that girl embarrassed you oh...see the way .......she just slapped you....
DANIEL: You would never believe it....
RICHIE: What.. .
DANIEL: That girl is the same girl i told you earlier was like an old blind woman....
RICHIE: What.....oh boy no wonder the slap was so loud it almost burst the speakers....
DANIEL: You are not serious......
RICHIE: Wait oh....na only you and that girl....
DANIEL: I tire oh....but this night....she looked so beautiful like a princess....and i kissed her soft lips.....
RICHIE: I don't understand oh....i was meant to think you hated this girl....
DANIEL: I think she does....i never hated her....just didn't like her character.....seeing her this night has changed my mind....
RICHIE: I fear for you oh....it seems the old blind detestable insolent spoilt brat is bursting your brain......that is your business..... let us go get some drinks.....
DANIEL: I don't think i can stay here any longer....
RICHIE: Why....
DANIEL: I am tired and need to rest....
RICHIE: I know you will have an excuse... for me this is just the beginning.....
DANIEL: Well see you later....and please come back early.....(he moves out of the hall and off he moves....on the road he sees someone close to a damaged car....)
DANIEL: Excuse me....is there any problem....(the person turns her back and he sees her...)......you...
APRIL: What are you doing here....to frustrate me....right
DANIEL: Not at all.....what is wrong with your car....
APRIL: I don't know it just stopped....but i will call my boys....
DANIEL: So sad your bodyguards are not here.....and it is so dangerous to be here alone at this time....let me check the car.....
APRIL: Alright....(she opens the bonnet....he checks the engine....)
DANIEL: Oh.....the battery is disconnected......(he fixes it.. )....go and start it ....
APRIL: Ok....(she goes to start it....and it starts......).....oh....(she runs to hug him...and then remembered who he was..she withdraws....)....thank you....
DANIEL: Ok....i will be going now....
APRIL: Let me drop you off....
DANIEL: Dont worry...my hostel is over there......(he points.....)
APRIL: Ok....thank you very much....
DANIEL: I hope we will be good friends....(she smiles.....enters her car....starts it....)....
APRIL: Yeah...goodnight...??
DANIEL: Daniel....my name is Daniel.....
APRIL: Mine is April.....
DANIEL: Goodnight April....(she drives away as Daniel walks home thinking all about april.....)
[Still in the party so late.....dancing and partying....suddenly some boys comes in with guns and axes seeing that the girls screams ....people begin to run....at the end the unknown men captures some guys tires them and into their bus.....and drives off....the guys were blindfolded and were taken to a hidden area where they were initiated.....into the "Black axe" cult....]
[Weeks later...Daniel made his intention of being the class rep known....his eloquent speech,elegant appearance,refinement in manners and intelligent words became his ingredients to student's support even to some other students outside and lecturers .........In the lectures hall....a 1500 seater hall....tobi discusses with his friends... ]
DAMILOLA: Tobi....this guy is so hot....and now so popular in school....
TOBI: I know....and i fear with that i will lose.....
MARCUS: And if you lose it will affect your political career in the future.....
TOBI: That is true....but guys.....what will i do.. now....???
MARCUS: Threaten him to step down.....with this post.....you will gain recognition....with that you can go further in the next level....
DAMILOLA: That is true tobi......
TOBI: That is really true....but we have a debate tomorrow....organized by the lecturers of our department.....
MARCUS: Anyhow....just threaten him....he will bend....
TOBI: I will do just that......will see him today
MARCUS: With that no need to be afraid....
TOBI: You guys are the best men....thanks(the scene ends.....)

[Daniel sits down..in his hall reading a textbook titled "Introduction to business law....immediately tobi comes in with three other guys at his back.....]
TOBI:(Sits on the bench.....)....so good to see you Daniel.....
DANIEL: What can i do for you tobi....?
TOBI: Come on....have we become enemies...we are just opponents..
DANIEL: I know but your coming here is not an ordinary one....
TOBI: You see Daniel you are very intelligent and i am sure you will save yourself...with that.....
DANIEL: What is it....?
TOBI: You see i like you that is why i am telling you this....i want you to step down from contesting for the class rep....
DANIEL: What....what nonsense....listen tobi i will not withdraw from the election....i am ready to serve my people.....
TOBI: Look around you Daniel.....i know the in and out of this school...to your safety withdraw from the election or else....
DANIEL: Or else what....you will deal with me...listen tobi i am not frightened by you and your thin stricken boys......we will see in the polls....excuse me...(he picks his bag and leaves the hall....)
[From the hall....he comes down from the step.... sees Richie some metres where he is....sitting on an iron bench under a dongoyaro tree which serves as a shade....]
DANIEL:(sees Richie and goes to meet him)......Richie....Richie...(he taps him...)
RICHIE: Oh Daniel you scared me....how far now....
DANIEL: Richie.....what is wrong....?....what are you thinking about...?
RICHIE: It is nothing Daniel....i am fine....
DANIEL: You are not....you are not fine....since some time now you look timorous....
RICHIE: I said...i am alright....
DANIEL: I can't believe that....you look perplexed....come on tell me....even though you cannot tell your course mate or roommate at least tell your best friend....
RICHIE: Daniel....i have never being so scared in my life....
DANIEL:(Shocked)....what happened...?
RICHIE: Remember the fresher's party we went to....
DANIEL: Yes...what about that....?
RICHIE: Some hours after you left.....some guys....cultists came in with weapons to disarray the party....they shot some people and took some guys including myself to their hideout with our eyes blinded folded.......
DANIEL: Jesus!
RICHIE: They scrapped our hairs with blade cut our backs with blade and they mixed all these together and made us drink it......they also cut their fingers and put drops of blood in the same calabash and made us drink it....
DANIEL: Geez....why did you drink such....why cant you refuse...
RICHIE: A guy refused and he was beheaded and buried.....they told us not to disclose this to any.....Daniel i am scared....
DANIEL: I told you about these late night...now look at it....
RICHIE: I did not tell you this to scold me but to help me out....
DANIEL: Hmm....I will suggest you see the student advisor.....(As they speak....some guys call Richie....)....who are those guys....
RICHIE: Am sure they are part of the cult group....
DANIEL: Listen Richie....don't go.....don't go to them....
RICHIE: Refusing them will cause more problems....let me go and see them.....(he goes to meet them...)
JASPER: Are you ignoring us....?
RICHIE: I am not....if i am i will not be here speaking with you....
JASPER: And who is that....?
RICHIE: A nobody....what is it....?
JASPER: Our "chapo" wants to meet with you.....
RICHIE: When....?
JASPER: Right now.....
RICHIE: But....
JASPER:(no but).....lets go now...
RICHIE: Let me get my bag....(he goes back to where Daniel is....)....i am going to see someone Daniel....
DANIEL: I advise you you don't follow those guys anywhere....
RICHIE: Later Daniel....(he picks his bag and leaves....)
DANIEL: Wait .......ha my God.....i hope he is not in any danger....ha..i warned him...now see..cult ke....ha....(he checks his time....)....let me go back to class.....(he stands up and goes back to class....)
[Jasper and two other guys took Richie to a bar outside the school where chapo sits drinking and smoking......]
CHAPO: Dont be afraid boy....you are safe...sit down....(Richie sits down....)
CHAPO: You see Richie....we have been watching you....we fancy your lifestyle.....you see in this hood....we enjoy life to the fullest....money,weed,women,fame,success in exams anything you name we do here....
RICHIE: And If i don't want to be a part....
CHAPO:(Laughs)....
then i will have no choice than to shoot your brain right here....right now....(he brings out his gun....)
RICHIE:(Sees the gun)..please i don't want to die....
CHAPO: It is your decision to make....to live or die....(he smokes his cigeratte)....
RICHIE: I choose to live.
CHAPO: Good....(he pours the "alcoholic liquor" from the bottle labelled "Remi martins"into a glass cup for richie)....(the scene ends....)

ACT 2 SCENE 6
[In April's duplex.....she sits reading a book dressed in a short white top and a khaki bum short as the maid comes in....]
MAID: Ma.....madam....your food is ready....(she goes back as april calls her back.....)
APRIL: Please come back....Sit down....
MAID:(With surprise)....ha madam i cannot sit down....
APRIL: Dont worry just sit down....(she sits)...whats your name...?
MAID: My name is folake....
APRIL: Folake you can call me April....
MAID: Ha....madam i cannot call you that....you are my madam...
APRIL: I am totally fine with you calling me April.....now folake i want you to tell me the truth and i promise i will take no action against you....am i rude....?
MAID: No....madam....you are not rude at all..
APRIL: I want your sincere answer folake and i will appreciate it if you tell me the real truth......
MAID: Am sorry madam.....the real truth is....you are rude madam.....sorry April...you feel so proud and think everyone is below you.....you are so beautiful.....but people will desist from you because of that character.....(she holds her mouth seeing she is talking too much)
APRIL: Hmm....thank you....folake
MAID: Madam i hope i did not annoy you with my words....
APRIL: Not at all folake......telling me this..... is for the best.......and will help me change....you can go back to your work....
MAID: Thank you April...(she leaves as April put folake and Daniel's words to action....)
[The next day....in the library of the university of Lagos,Daniel comes into the library to read....the library is tiled, filled with air conditioners and reading furniture.....Daniel walks to the shelves where different books are arranged in different slot.....he moves to the shelf titled "law education" selects a book called "school law",going back he sights April sitting down and reading...he walks towards her.....]
DANIEL: Hi....April...(She turns her back....)
APRIL: Hi.......
DANIEL: Do you still recognise me....?
APRIL: Sure..... Daniel right.....
DANIEL: That is it....can i join you....
APRIL: Sure....
DANIEL: I can see you are the only one in this area...
APRIL: Yeah....i like to read in a lonely area....it makes me understand what i am reading.....
DANIEL: I hope i ain't disturbing you....
APRIL: I like your company....so what book do you have there.
DANIEL: Well....this is school law....and you...
APRIL: I am reading the "colour of law"....
DANIEL: Wow.....that is one of my best books...I have read that book time and time again...the book was written by mark Giminez....
APRIL: That is true....hmm....i can see you are very good with books....
DANIEL: Yeah i do.....i love books so much....
APRIL: I think you will make a good class rep..
DANIEL: I must feel so popular for you to know about that....
APRIL: The students love your charisma....they want you as their rep....
DANIEL: Wow my head is swelling so big....so what about you....who do you have in mind....
APRIL: You of course...i will choose you anytime....any day....(they laugh....)
DANIEL: Ok.....the polls is next week....we will find out....meanwhile lets do what we came here for....(they read for two hours....outside the library....)
APRIL: This is past five......are you going to remain in school or going home....
DANIEL: No....we have no lectures....i will be going home....
APRIL: Then let me drop you....
DANIEL: My place is not far from the school gate....so i will drop at the bus-stop after the school gate.....
APRIL: Alright...hop in...(he goes in....as she moves....at the bus/stop she stops as Daniel comes down...)
DANIEL: Alright....thank you for the ride April...yeah.....i don't want to be forward....can i have your digits....
APRIL: Smiles..08189466125....that's it....
DANIEL: Thank you so much for the ride....i appreciate it....i will call you later....
APRIL: Cool....goodbye.....(she drives slowly...looking at him at her head mirror....)
[Daniel moves on with his bags....as a bus stops at him...three guys come out of the bus to him]
GUY1:Hey....stop there......
DANIEL: For what....let me pass....(they surround him....he tries to escape but they beat him....carry him into the bus....close the door of the bus and zoom off....as the scene ends....)
