forthcoming election in Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, immediate national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has come hard on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking ahead of the election scheduled for September, Oshiomhole said the opposition party is playing a bad game by using what he said about the APC candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in 2016 against him. He described Ize-Iyamu as "a good man with genuine plans" to move Edo state forward, adding that PDP will have nothing to show if voted into power again. Kogi guber: Huge number of APC aspirants is due to my efforts, says Gov Bello Adams Oshiomhole has scolded PDP for using what he said in the past against him.
Oshiomhole's position came moments after thousands of youths under the aegis of ‘Edo Youth Solidarity Movement’ threw their weight behind Ize-Iyamu. The youths, who pledged their support for the APC candidate, said they are confident that he will create jobs and improve the economy if elected to control the affairs of the state for the next four years. While accepting the youths' support, Ize-Iyamu said his government will drive focus on development and will engage well-educated, qualified and competent people to handle complex tasks and projects. “My own government will be different. We have plans to create jobs for our youths. We will empower and patronise them. "We don’t think you are good for election period only. If you elect me, you will have a friend in the Government House; a governor who is accessible, lives among you and is accountable to you,” he said.
