BURNA BOY WARNS NIGERIAN ARTISTES AGAINST INTERNATIONAL DEALS

Just about a year after he signed a deal with Universal Music USA, Burna Boy has taken to
social media to warn other Nigerian artistes against signing international deals.
In a post he shared on Instastories, the singer stated that artistes who rejoice about such deals don’t have a clue about what they are getting into.
According to him, such deals render artistes as “international victims”.
When Burna Boy got signed by Universal Music USA last year, some information about the deal was released in a statement.
“This deal will also seek and issue licenses for Burna’s work. This is, of course, in addition to administrative duties, tracking, exploitation of copyrights, and collection of monies generated from the exploitation of those copyrights,” the statement read.
It is not quite clear why the singer now feels international deals aren’t favourable to Nigerian artistes.
