ROGER FEDERER WINS 18TH GRAND SLAM;BEATS NADAL TO WIN AUSTRALIAN OPEN

Roger Federer stood tall at the end of an intense and gruelling five-setter against Rafae
l Nadal that finished 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 and ensured the Swiss added the 2017 Australian Open to his kitty. The mastery of Federer came through in the fifth set when he was a break down against Nadal. But he pulled a break back and then proceeded to break him again. Duly, Federer served out the set in the face of a brilliant fight back from Rafael Nadal.

It takes Federer's Grand Slam tally to 18, 4 more than the closest challengers (Nadal and Sampras). Federer unleashed some of his impeccable forehands and delightful backhands to edge a determined Nadal. But the game certainly lived up to its billing!!
